I'll be heading to Liberia, West Africa in less than 48 hours! Can you wearout a word? If so, I think I've worn out "excited."After planning for more than a year and talking about it even longer than that I can hardly believe the time is finally here! Who would have thought that God had Africa in store for this quiet shy white country girl. I've recently come across some scripture in Ephesians, "We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." That's so true. He has completely prepared this "good work" in Africa for me because the way has been effortless on my part. He has set things in motion and I get to just walk through the door and watch it come together. The support from family and friends and people I just recently met has been tremendous and the only explaination for it is that God has moved and prepared hearts. Which then reminds me that this trip or good work is way bigger then me, I'm just a fingernail on the Body of Christ reaching the forgotten and poor, continuing Jesus' work. How humbling! And THANK YOU to all of you who have lent your support! Your well wishes and prayers are SO encouraging. And remember a part of you will be healing the poor in Africa.
I'm looking forward to taking care of these patients from Liberia. Getting to know them and befriend them during their time of healing will be so fun! I'll also have an opportunity to visit an orphanage and I'm hoping to have other various chances to see and be with the people of West Africa.
So, that's enough for my first blog! I hope to update regularly. I'll have internet access while on the ship and welcome emails from you. I'll explain a little more of my work and life style in blogs to come. I'm hoping to use this resource as a way to bring awareness to our fellow man around the world and their stories. So stay tuned...
Much love,
Jodi

That's awesome. I myself have close freinds who are moving to Africa. It's amazing to see so many Christians reaching out to this continent.
I wish you safe travels.
